Albina’s Bakery Update
Albina is an inspiring 59 year old woman living near the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa. Wishing to fulfill her life-long passion to open a bakery and pull herself out of poverty, Albina enrolled in a bakery training program and was awarded a $900 CareLink microfinance loan in December of 2020, thanks to a generous donor. Albina’s bakery is thriving! She is creating and selling beautiful cakes and pastries, has hired an assistant, and plans to expand her business in 2022 to include party decorations and piñatas. CareLink will provide this additional capital, increasing her profitability. Albina’s business has enriched her family with school supplies, improved family nutrition, and funds to help her special needs child. And Albina is faithfully re-paying her interest-free business loan on a monthly basis, providing a pool of cash to help CareLink fund new businesses. We are proud of you, Albina!
